I have followed many hobbies and pursuits over the years, but the one that remains unchanged, a faithful companion for more years than I wish to own up to, has been a camera.
Starting back in my tender teenage years with a box brownie as a 13th birthday gift from my father, and moving through to 35mm film complete with my own dark room setup at home, then to the little instamatics and poloroids. But it was the advent of digital and the vastly lower price of pursuing that hobby when you didnt have the cost of film and processing that opened ‘affordable’ photography for me. I purchased a Panasonic Lumix point and shoot, and finally a few years ago, my first ‘real’ DSLR, a Canon 450D. I moved from that to a Canon 7D and recently upgraded to a full frame with a Canon 6D with 24-105 F4L kit. I shoot in RAW and edit in Lightroom and Photoshop CC along with the Topaz suite which plugs into both LR and PS.
I primarily do landscapes, but also love urban, wildlife and macro photography and I started this blog to document for myself and my travel companions our travels with our cameras…
